Merseyside Police has charged a 52-year-old man from Toxteth with the murder of Kay Diamond at a flat on Greenhey Gardens on Saturday, 28 February, 2015.
Anthony Blye, of Greenhey Gardens, Toxteth, will appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, 2 March 2015).
A 48-year-old man from Toxteth arrested on suspicion of the murder of Kay Diamond has been released without charge.
Following a post mortem today (Sunday, 1 March 2015) detectives can now confirm that the death is being treated as murder.
The post mortem examination has concluded that the victim, 44-year-old Kay Diamond of Greenheys Gardens, Toxteth, died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigations into the death are ongoing and two men, aged 52 years and 48 years from Toxteth, remain in police custody where they are being questioned by detectives.
