An Enfield company has been convicted of failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees following the death of a 16-year-old labourer.
Rooftop Rooms Ltd of Baker Street, Enfield pleaded guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 16 March 2015 at the start of the trial.
Alfie Perrin, 16, (10.5.96) of Enfield fell from scaffolding in Camden Road, E11 at around 15:00hrs on 14 November 2012.
He was working for loft conversion company Rooftop Rooms Ltd when the incident happened.
London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were called to the address.
Alfie was treated at the scene and taken to an east London hospital where he subsequently died.
A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as head injuries.
The death was investigated by officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command together with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
