Merseyside Police can confirm that Alan Walton has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years today (Friday, 10 April 2015) at Liverpool Crown Court.
Walton, 31 years of The Green, Broad Green, was found guilty of possession of a firearm (Ingram sub-machine pistol) and the production of cannabis.
Following the sentencing, Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Richardson, said: “The sentencing of Walton today sends out a strong message to those involved in gun and drug related offences and reinforces our relentless commitment to tackling serious and organised crime.
“Walton was featured in mobile phone footage, which was shown to the court, fooling around with an Ingram sub-machine pistol.
This weapon is capable of firing 1200 rounds in a minute and it’s frightening to think of the devastation that could unfold with the use of a weapon like this, particularly in the hands of a fool like Walton.
