A 33-year-old woman has been convicted of manslaughter following the death of her newborn baby in Bristol.
Claudia Martins, of Marshall Walk, Knowle, was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.
She is due to be sentenced at a later date.
Martins was arrested following the discovery of a baby girlâ€™s body on Monday 15 September 2014.
Police were called to a flat in Knowle after the discovery of a suitcase containing the babyâ€™s body.
A post-mortem examination was carried out and medical experts were consulted.
Tissue was found in the babyâ€™s mouth and the expert opinion was that this could have caused the babyâ€™s death.
The court heard how Martins had concealed her pregnancy from family and friends.
