The victim of a Wolverhampton murder investigation has been named as local man Herman Simpson.
A post mortem held yesterday (14 April) revealed that 47-year-old Mr Simpson âˆ’ who had always been known as Louis – died from a stab wound to his back.
Police were alerted to his death after being called to a property in Compton Road at around 8.30pm on Monday (13 April), following reports a man had been stabbed.
Despite the best efforts of medics Mr Simpson died a short time later at the scene.
Yesterday, officers arrested three people in connection with Mr Simpsonâ€™s death, who were later released with no further action being taken against them.
Detective Inspector Warren Hines is leading the investigation.
