David Robinson, aged 46, of Waldegrave Road, Carlisle, has been jailed for six years for possession and distribution of indecent images.
Mr Robinson was sentenced today (17th April 2015) at Carlisle Crown Court after pleading guilty to 20 counts of possession and distribution of indecent images.
He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life, and received a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for life.
Robinson was arrested on 13th October 2014 and 17th October 2014 for his offences.
Robinson was employed by Cumbria Constabulary in a staff role at the time of his arrest.
He was suspended immediately following his arrest and left the force in January 2015.
