Wannabe rapper thumped with six year prison sentence after cowardly knife attack on teenager A wannabe rapper has been jailed for six years, after a cowardly knife attack left a 17-year-old lad permanently scarred.
Joshua Marshall, aged 21, from Priory Gate Way, Bordesley Green, was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday 16 April, after being found guilty of wounding and possessing an offensive weapon.
The court heard that Marshall, a local rapper, known as ‘Hecki’, had approached the lad as he stood outside Bordesley General Store on Cherrywood Road in February 2014.
He demanded the boy’s phone, and when he refused, Marshall produced a knife, which he used to slash the boy across the face, before running away.
The victim was left with a 7cm laceration across the left side of his face which cut through to the bone, he underwent surgery, but has been left permanently scarred.
