A former soldier in the British Army was today, Monday 20 April, jailed for 16 years for the rape of two young women in 2003.
Solomon Khoorban, 33 (24.08.81) of Bartle Avenue, E6, attacked the two women during separate incidents just two months apart.
Khoorban, then a serving soldier in the Royal Artillery based at Woolwich barracks, carried out the first attack on a 16-year-old girl at the Equinox nightclub in the West End on 29 June, 2003.
The teenager was on a night out with friends when she was approached by Khoorban inside the nightclub in Leicester Square.
He befriended the girl before luring her into a deserted section of the club where he launched a violent and prolonged attack.
He then fled the venue.
Eight weeks later Khoorban struck again during the early hours of 18 August.
