A man found guilty of a fatal stabbing at a party at Middlesex University has been jailed for life.
Kevin Mao, 20, (04.08.94) from Tottenham was found guilty of the murder of 22-year-old Noor Hassan Barre at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 21 April.
He was today, Wednesday 22 April, sentenced at the Old Bailey to life imprisonment in a young offenders’ institution and will serve a minimum of 26 years before he is eligible for parole.
Noor and Mao both attended an event at Middlesex University’s Hendon Campus on 31 October 2014 hosted by the University’s African Caribbean Society.
Noor was outside the party when he got into an argument with Mao at around 01:00hrs after he directed a flirtatious comment towards Noor’s female friend.
This confrontation turned to violence, culminating with Mao taking a knife from his waistband and fatally him.
