A man has been arrested after a glass bottle smashed a window at the town hall in Manchester.
At about 7.45pm on Wednesday 13 May 2015, Greater Manchester Police were made aware that a window at the town hall’s media centre had been damaged after a glass bottle was thrown.
A man was later arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in police custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Gareth Parkin said: “This is a mindless act of vandalism which is interfering with the use of an important community facility.
“There can be no justification whatsoever for causing deliberate damage to the city centre’s town hall and we take such criminal acts very seriously.
“As soon as we were made that a glass bottle was thrown, we made a number of inquiries and a man has been arrested.
