A police officer has been charged with non-recent sexual offences following an investigation by Surrey Police.
Salim Ismail, 50, is currently serving with West Yorkshire Police having previously served as a police constable in Surrey between 1993 and 2002.
He is due to appear at Guildford Magistratesâ€™ Court on Monday, 15 August charged with two counts of indecent assault, one count of rape and one count of attempted rape. The offences are alleged to have occurred in the mid-1990s.
The officer has been suspended from duty in West Yorkshire.
