The National Trust, Box Hill, are seeking volunteers to be known as “Box Hill Olympic Volunteersâ€
It has to be made clear from the start that there is no role at the moment for the race days as all stewarding during the races is to be provided by SCC and LOCOG.
Volunteers are being sought from April to August to cover 1000 -1800 in four hour blocks, 7 days a week. A volunteer can come for the day or for 4 hours, once a week or more. No doubt much of the organisation of the roster and the latest information will be managed by email and some form of duty roster will no doubt be established. Hot drinks will be provided.
The task is to meet visitors to Box Hill and be able to explain the “Olympic Story†giving advice and guidance on what is taking place on the ground – work being undertaken, fenced off areas, car parking restrictions and so on. Full briefings and updates will be given and there is an opening for attending meetings and briefings with the NT.
Travel expenses will be me and a green NT uniform provided with a fluorescent tabard explaining the role.
More than one volunteer can be present at a time.
