15yr old boy arrested as part of TalkTalk data theft investigation

An arrest has been made in connection with the investigation into alleged data theft from the TalkTalk website.

On Monday, 26 October, at approximately 16:20hrs officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), working with detectives from the Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit (MPCCU), executed a search warrant at an address in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

At the address, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences.

He has been taken into custody at a County Antrim police station where he will later be interviewed.

A search of the address is ongoing and enquiries continue.

This is a joint investigation by MPCCU detectives, the PSNI’s Cyber Crime Centre (CCC) and the National Crime Agency.

Officers name man who died following police contact

Officers are now in a position to name a man who died following an incident in Holloway Road, Islington.

He is Gabriel Frapiccini, 36 (16.10.1978) of York Way, Camden.

Police were called by a member of the public at approximately 22:45hrs on Thursday, 8 October to an incident in Holloway Road, N7.

At the scene officers found a man had been detained by members of the public. This man is now identified as Gabriel Frapiccini.

He was handcuffed by Police but not placed under arrest.

Officers quickly established that Mr Frapiccini appeared unwell and the London Ambulance Service was called.

Mr Frapiccini was taken to hospital where he died at 00:12hrs on Friday, 9 October.

Next of kin have been notified.

The death is being investigated by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command.

IPCC investigation launched aftet police shoot man dead

THE Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has launched an independent investigation into the shooting of a man by a firearms officer in St Neots.

The force control room was called at 7.45pm yesterday (October 21) with a report of concern for people in a property in Duck Lane, St Neots.

Officers attended the scene and at just after 8pm a man was shot by a firearms officer. The man died at the scene.

No one else was injured in the incident.

A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Police Complaints Commission and, therefore, it would not be appropriate to comment further.

Appeal following murders of four men

Detectives investigating the murders of four men are appealing for information and witnesses.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command launched an investigation following the deaths in Barking of Anthony Walgate, 23, from Barnet on 19 June 2014; Gabriel Kovari, 22, from Lewisham on 28 August 2014; Daniel Whitworth, 21, from Gravesend on 20 September 2014 and Jack Taylor, 21, from Dagenham, on 14 September 2015.

Detective Chief Inspector Tim Duffield, said: “We are keen to trace anyone who may have information in connection with these incidents.

Bus stop rapist given 20 year extended sentence at Leeds Crown Court

Zdenko Turtak, who raped and viciously assaulted an 18 year old woman at a Leeds bus stop in March 2015, before fleeing to Slovakia, has been given an extended sentence of 20 years, with a custodial element of 14 years for rape, and a concurrent sentence of eight years for grievous bodily harm with intent  at Leeds Crown Court today.

Peter Mann, Head of the Complex Casework Unit, CPS Yorkshire and Humberside said:

“Zdenko Turtak is responsible for a vicious and terrifying rape. ‘Stranger rape’ such as this is rare and the devastating trauma which the teenage victim experienced will live with her for the rest of her life.

Police officer charged with 7 rapes due in court

PC Michael Graham, 47, a serving police officer attached to Hounslow borough, appears on bail at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on 21 October charged with:

– Seven counts of rape
– One count of assault, ABH

Graham was arrested at his home address on 6 October and charged the following day. He was not on duty at the time of the arrest.

The officer has been suspended.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between 24 December 2013 and 2 September 2014 whilst the officer was off duty.

Officers from Sexual Offences Exploitation & Child Abuse are investigating.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed as a matter of course.

A man has been charged with four counts of murder in relation to the deaths of four men.

Stephen John Port, 40 (22.02.75) of Cooke Street, Barking was tonight, Sunday, 18 October, charged with four counts of murder in relation to the deaths of four men between June 2014 and September 2015.

He has also been charged with four counts of administering a poison with intent to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm, contrary to s.23 Offences Against the Persons Act 1861.

A youth has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Acton.

The 16-year-old male [B] appears in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 October.

The murder investigation was launched after police were called at around 11:50hrs on Friday, 16 October to reports of a male stabbed in Crown Street, Acton, W3.

The victim was taken by London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination at Fulham Mortuary gave cause of death as a single stab wound to the heart. Next of kin have been informed.

PCC accepts Chief Constable resignation

Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens has today accepted the resignation of Chief Constable Nick Gargan with immediate effect.

Mr Gargan will leave his position as the Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset with three-month’s salary in lieu of notice as the terms of his contract state.

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “I have accepted Mr Gargan’s resignation with immediate effect. I think this is in the best interests of the Constabulary, and residents. It also means that the protracted and lengthy section 38 process will end immediately and no further legal expense will be incurred.

3 charged in connection with murder of PC David Phillip

Merseyside Police can confirm that three people have been charged with assisting an offender following the murder of PC Dave Phillips in the early hours of Monday, 5 October 2015.

Georgia Clarke, 19 years, of Knowsley Road, Wallasey; Dawn Cooper, 34 years, of Wheatland Lane, Wallasey; and Michael Smith, 19 years, of Widmore Road are charged with assisiting an offender.

They will appear at Wirral Magistrates Court this morning (Friday, 16 October 2015).
